EagleHawk Visits the Rochester Institute of Technology to Network with Engineering & Technology Students and Faculty

EagleHawk was thrilled to recently visit the Rochester Institute of Technology to network with professors and students and learn more about the school’s investment in technology, engineering and entrepreneurship.

“As an alum of RIT’s College of Engineering and an entrepreneur, it’s exciting for the EagleHawk team to see first-hand how the school is continuing to invest in engineering, technology and entrepreneurship programs,” said EagleHawk CEO Patrick Walsh. “As a drone technology company, it’s important for us to stay connected to schools and programs that are developing and inspiring future generations who will continue to move the emerging drone and technology industry forward.”

Walsh was also able to reconnect with RIT professors Dr. Agamemnon Crassidis and Dr. Elizabeth DeBartolo who he studied under as a student. Both are still professors at the university and are involved and highly focused on the evolution of drones and technology. Dr. Crassidis is also the Academic Director for NUAIR.

The EagleHawk team was able to monitor classes, engage with professors, and tour multiple labs including the Construct, an “all-access makerspace.” The Construct is open to all students, faculty, and employees who consider themselves creative thinkers who are always searching for ways to improve their knowledge and skills. This dedicated space offers a variety of rapid prototyping facilities available for use, including 3D printers, laser-cutters, and CNC mills, as well as workspaces for electronics, metal/woodworking, and CAD design.

EagleHawk looks forward to future opportunities to work with RIT professors and students on exciting drone-related projects.
